At the beginning of 2021, Fernando Marcondes de Mattos, one of the most relevant entrepreneurs in Santa Catarina and founder of Costão do Santinho Resort, had an insight into a new venture. Following the exponential growth of the games market, the visionary entrepreneur envisioned that Florianópolis could be the headquarters of one of the largest gaming enterprises in Latin America.

In a world of 7.8 billion people, more than 35% play some type of digital game. Men, women, children and the elderly participate in a global movement that is growing at exponential rates.

With a base of more than 84 million players, studies and experts project that Brazil will grow at rates higher than the world average, reaching revenues of US$4.5 billion in 2026.

To model his vision, the businessman invited one of the biggest icons in the development of innovation ecosystems in Brazil, Dr Carlos Alberto Schneider, one of the main creators of the Florianópolis Technological Center and founder of the Certi Foundation.
